Some of Laurie's noteworthy performance experiences include solo, as well as chamber music recitals, performances with local South-Eastern orchestras and wind ensembles in Tennessee and Georgia, as well as various flute accompaniments for choirs, and vocal soloists. In addition to being an active performer, Laurie has been instructing individual and small group flute lessons to young musicians since 2015 at various elementary, middle, and high schools in areas where she has resided. "I believe cultivating a skill [such as flute] should be just as enjoyable and rewarding as it is consistent and deliberate work." She says about playing the flute, "I aim to show my students that a good attitude and an amplitude for putting your 'best foot forward' will result in progress. And, it's good to have a little fun along the way by enjoying how fascinating music can be." With her experience, Laurie knows she aims to continue teaching lessons, performing, and sharing music professionally with colleagues and friends - in whatever capacity that may be.

When not doing music-related work, Laurie is an avid hiker, baker, crafter, and much more. She finds inspiration being outside - rain or shine, and finds comfort curled up in a blanket watching a movie with close friends.
